Drag two notes close and they leap together with a soft, tactile click. From then on they’re connected: ⌘-drag any one of them and the whole group travels, spacing intact. Nothing else on your Mac does this, and it’s more satisfying than it has any right to be.
When a reminder comes due, the note itself lights up: a halo spilling past its edges, a slow pulse, a sound. You glance over and what you wrote is already there, in the spot you left it. Nothing to open, nothing to go hunting for.
⌥Space opens a palette: fuzzy-search titles, grep every note's text, hit Enter to jump straight to the match. The note itself, right where you left it.
Notes drift where you dropped them. One keystroke puts them back: ⌃⇧1 lines every note up in a grid, ⌃⇧4 stacks them by colour. Six arrangements in all. Nothing is locked into place; arrange, work, arrange again.
⌃⌥V drops whatever is on your clipboard onto the desktop as a new note: a link, an address, half a stack trace. If it's JSON, Swift, SQL, Go or ten others, it arrives already fenced and labelled.
Notes float above everything, including fullscreen apps, and follow you across Spaces. Park the dot-grid widget anywhere on screen: click to hide every note, click again to bring them all back, scroll to collapse.

No, and that's the whole point. Every note is a plain
.md file with YAML frontmatter, saved in a folder
on your Mac, or in your own iCloud Drive. Open and edit them in
any editor. Uninstall ClickyDots tomorrow and your notes are
still just files, right where you left them.
